Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms
By creating an account or using LexAI ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms form a binding contract between you and LexAI.
2. Not legal advice — important disclaimer
LexAI IS AN AI TOOL, NOT A LAW FIRM. USE OF THIS SERVICE DOES NOT CREATE AN ATTORNEY-CLIENT RELATIONSHIP. All content generated by LexAI — including document drafts, research summaries, contract reviews, and advisory responses — is provided for informational and productivity purposes only. It does not constitute legal advice. You must have all AI-generated legal documents and advice reviewed by a qualified, licensed attorney in the relevant jurisdiction before relying on or using such content. LexAI expressly disclaims all liability for any action taken or not taken based on content generated by the Service.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into contracts to use LexAI. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.
4. Account registration
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use at support@lexai.app.
5. Free and paid plans
Free plan: Subject to daily usage limits (10 messages/day, 1 attachment/session, ~500 token responses). We reserve the right to modify free tier limits at any time with reasonable notice. Pro plan: $19/month (billed monthly) or $15/month (billed annually at $180/year). Pro features include 500 messages/day, 20 attachments/session, and ~4,000 token responses. All prices are in USD and exclusive of applicable taxes.
6. Billing and cancellation
Subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis. You may cancel at any time via your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain Pro access until then. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods except where required by applicable law. EU/UK consumers have the right to a 14-day cooling-off period from the date of purchase, after which the right to cancel for a refund lapses.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to use LexAI to: • Generate content intended to deceive, defraud, or harm any person. • Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party rights. • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the Service. • Circumvent usage limits or access controls. • Generate content that constitutes unauthorized practice of law in jurisdictions where you are not licensed. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
8. Intellectual property
You retain ownership of content you submit to LexAI. You grant LexAI a limited license to process your content solely to provide the Service. LexAI retains all rights to its platform, branding, and underlying technology. AI-generated output does not carry copyright protection under current US and EU law — you may use it freely subject to these Terms.
9. Anthropic usage policies
LexAI is powered by Anthropic's Claude API. Your use of LexAI is also subject to Anthropic's usage policies available at https://www.anthropic.com/legal/usage-policy. We do not permit uses of LexAI that would violate those policies.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT AI-GENERATED CONTENT WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LEXAI SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR DATA, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNTS PAID BY YOU IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death, personal injury, or fraud caused by our negligence.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles. For EU/UK consumers, mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence also apply and are not affected by this clause.
13. Dispute resolution
Any dispute arising from these Terms shall first be addressed through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved after 30 days, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration under AAA Commercial Arbitration Rules, conducted in English. EU/UK consumers may also use EU Online Dispute Resolution at https://ec.europa.eu/odr.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you by email and/or a prominent notice in the app at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.
